John Forester (7 October 1929 – 14 April 2020) was an English-American licensed industrial engineer, cycling advocate and activist who described himself as a bicycle transportation engineer. As a cycling activist, he promoted "the vehicular cycling principle" in which "Cyclists fare best when they act and are treated as drivers of vehicles" and is known as "the father of vehicular cycling".
